Battle of the Books 2008
Teams representing thirty-seven libraries competed at the Javits Lecture Center on Saturday August 16, 2008. The building was jam-packed with excited players, anxious coaches, and supportive parents.
The semi-final and final battles were held at the Islandia Marriott on Monday evening August 18, 2008.
A heart-stopping, nail-biting final round ended in a tie. After two additional overtime rounds, Patchogue-Medford won the championship.

Fourth Place: Huntington Public Library

Sportsmanship: Elwood Public Library & Shelter Island Public Library
Team Spirit: Hauppauge Public Library & Hampton Bays Public Library
